Maintenance of a wooden cutting board

To preserve the beauty and durability of your wooden cutting board, it is essential to care for it gently and regularly. Avoid washing a cutting board in the dishwasher or soaking it for long periods, as this can damage the wood.

1.

After each use, wash it by hand with mild soap and warm water.

2.

Dry it immediately with a clean cloth.

3.

Once the surface is completely dry, use a soft cotton cloth or just your fingertips to take a small amount of balm about the size of a hazelnut is enough for an average surface.

4.

Apply the Sacobi board balm in circular motions, following the grain of the wood, until the surface is evenly coated. Its blended formula penetrates deeply to hydrate, protect, and revive the wood grain while providing a satin finish. Be sure to treat all sides of the board top, bottom, and edges — to maintain consistent protection and moisture levels.

5.

Allow the wood to absorb the balm for a few hours (or overnight for a deep treatment).

6.

Wipe off any excess with a clean, dry cloth to reveal a smooth, satin finish.

For optimal care, apply the balm once a month, or whenever the wood feels dry to the touch or starts to lose its color. This simple ritual nourishes the wood and keeps your board looking vibrant.
